We hear a lot about making positive changes in our lives, in fact, I think we will remember the 2010s as the decade of self improvement. But what if we DON’T make that positive change – what’s the downside? That things will stay the same? Or worse – we will have REGRETS. That’s huge. Regrets may haunt us as we age, until it’s too late. A friend of mine shared this eye opening 3 min video. A chalk board is posted in New York City with the question, “What is your biggest REGRET?” Passers by pick up the chalk and add their regrets. The overwhelming common component was what they did NOT do, did NOT say, did NOT pursue. Get the picture? We don’t LET change happen, we have to MAKE change happen. And that means doing something different than what we’re doing now.
Last year I wrote a blog post about the Secret Sauce of Making Change Happen. It details the four components: Goals, Inspiration, Facing Fear and Creating a Plan. What is your goal? That’s the first step. Don’t be afraid to fail – because failure is the same as NOT trying – so why not take a chance? You will be further ahead. #NoRegrets
