Struggling to get a new container of shredded parmesan cheese open the other day, my heart went out to the elderly, who do not have the vision or dexterity to accomplish such small tasks. If it’s difficult for me, imagine the difficulty for one with arthritis or bad vision.
This got me thinking about cash — why doesn’t paper currency have Braille on it for the blind or visually impaired? Problem solved! I just discovered a cool app to assist such individuals. Developed by the Bureau of Engraving & Printing, eyenote will tell you what demonination a Federal Reserve Note (paper bill) is when you hold it up to an iPhone. Check out the video here for a demo:
